We are a Zen Buddhist training center and interfaith, open, and
diverse community for spiritual development. Our practice is designed
specifically for people engaged in the demanding discipline of worldly
life - relationships, family, careers and community service. The
hallmark of Zen accomplishment is not the hermitage or monastery,
but mindful, skillful and whole-hearted living.
We value each ourselves to being fully present and of service. We
value each member and the caring quality of our community. We also
emphasize spiritually-based social action: holistic service based on
our intimate bond with all creation.
what is zen?
Zen is a way of training body, breath and mind to experience the
oneness and interconnectedness of life, and to develop wisdom and
compassion. The core practice is Zazen, Zen meditation, which
is body-mind merger with each moment of life, the practice of
presence.
We teach Zen meditation in stillness and action as the practice of
presence. We help you train your body, breath and mind and prepare
you to experience and recognize the oneness and interconnectedness
of all creation, and to express spirituality in daily life. For those with
awakening experience, we help you clarify your understanding, further
awaken other perspectives of oneness and further develop the ability
to function from those perspectives in daily life.
